Detailed Summary

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and SocialFi have long established themselves as key areas within the overall crypto ecosystem. These two concepts have been tightly linked, with many SocialFi platforms extensively using NFTs to reward user participation. However, so far, most SocialFi projects have only developed trivial mechanisms for leveraging NFTs, and their tokens are mostly used as participant avatars or to assign some rewards.

Galaxis (GALAXIS) is a SocialFi project that utilizes NFTs to empower social community building at a completely new level. Essentially, Galaxis is a comprehensive platform that influencers, businesses, artists and other entities can utilize to build an effective web3-based social community. Using NFTs in the form of digital membership cards with complex, modifiable features, Galaxis is among the first platforms to offer creators and corporates alike an innovative path to decentralized community development.

Key Takeaways:

  • Galaxis (GALAXIS) is a decentralized platform that lets digital creators, influencers and companies launch and effectively manage their own web3 social media communities via an NFT-based membership card system.

  • Galaxis offers creators a great degree of flexibility and a rich set of features with regard to NFT card content and membership system structures.

What Is Galaxis?

Galaxis (GALAXIS) is a decentralized app (DApp) that facilitates the development of web3 social communities using NFTs in the form of digital membership cards. It empowers the creator economy by allowing companies, influencers, artists and other social media actors to build and effectively manage their own community platforms and follower bases using a decentralized approach.

Many web3 projects continuously mint and distribute NFTs in order to attract and retain users. However, these endless NFT airdrops often result in the devaluation of these assets, while also becoming unsustainable for project operators. In contrast to these simplistic NFT distribution approaches, Galaxis's tools and modules enable creators and digital tribe leaders to maintain and develop their communities sustainably while ensuring that community members are adequately incentivized and engaged.

Galaxis achieves this thanks to the combination of three services:

  1. Providing value to community members in the form of NFT-based membership cards that entitle users to perks and rewards such as exclusive chats with the influencer/community owner or free merchandise from the sports team running the community.

  2. Fostering engagement and communication between participants via Community Spaces, digital environments with gated access in which every community member can interact with others.

  3. Offering creators tools that can help them tokenize and monetize their community-building activities.

How Does Galaxis Work?

Galaxis operates as a DApp on the Ethereum (ETH) and Polygon (POL) blockchain networks. It’s also partnered with Chainlink (LINK) to power cross-chain membership card functionality via the Chainlink Build program. Chainlink’s ecosystem is the largest blockchain oracle platform in web3, and is extensively used by projects looking for cross-chain capability.

Besides blockchain validator nodes that help secure the app's operations, the Galaxis platform features special Engine nodes. These nodes are responsible for mining and distributing Launchkeys — access tokens that allow creators to launch new social communities on Galaxis. As a reward for their work, Engine nodes earn crypto rewards through GALAXIS, the platform's native utility token, from the royalties paid by creators owning community platforms on Galaxis. They’re also entitled to the Galaxis Rewards Pool, as well as Bonus Pool rewards. As of mid-May 2024, nearly 12,000 Engine nodes are registered on the Galaxis platform.

The image below shows the overall architecture of the Galaxis ecosystem, outlining the interactions between the key entities — creators/community owners, community members, Engine nodes and the Rewards Pool.

Upon joining Galaxis, creators get access to three main components of the platform's user interface — Mission Control, Membership Cards and Community Space. The Mission Control component is the admin panel for the overall management of the community and its cards, interaction spaces, NFT traits, games and more. Membership Cards are used by creators to launch and manage digital cards for their communities. Community Spaces are designed for comprehensive digital management so that members of the same communities can congregate and socialize.

Galaxis Key Features

Membership Cards

Membership Cards are digital tokens in the form of NFTs that creators can issue to users joining their communities. These cards can provide redeemable value to card owners, typically in categories that include physical and/or digital redeemables, online meetings and autographs.

Physical redeemables are real-world items, such as a painting by a visual artist or a jersey that belonged to a well-known sports figure. Although the redeemables are physical, their ownership information is recorded on the blockchain, serving as an immutable confirmation of the member’ item. On the other hand, digital redeemables exist exclusively in digital format, for example, as a photograph or animation.

Token Architect

Part of the Mission Control component, Galaxis's Token Architect is used by community creators to issue their membership cards. Galaxis offers creators significant flexibility in the cards' design and media features. Content generated for each card can include rich media or interactivity elements, e.g., slideshows, videos, dynamic features and more.

Token Architect is also a utility for assigning and managing card rarities and membership levels. For instance, creators might want to issue special category cards to old-time community members, while recently joined users are entitled to ordinary, beginner-level cards. In short, Galaxis’s Token Architect gives you a great deal of flexibility and control in terms of structuring your membership card system and designing the content of your cards.

Utility Trait Manager

The Utility Trait Manager allows creators to assign new traits/perks (additional functions and utilities) to existing membership cards. The main trait categories include:

  • Redeemables physical and digital perks that can be redeemed

  • Badges traits that don't have a redeemable function, but entitle the owner to certain discounts or access privileges within the community

  • Autographs a creator's handwritten signature, signed on a tablet screen and then captured and stored as a digital image

  • Appointments exclusive online meetings between a creator and an owner of a card possessing the trait

Games

Galaxis also offers creators the functionality to add games to their communities in order to provide a richer user experience through gamification. For instance, the Sticker Books feature allows members to assign digital cards to a sticker book, much like it works with real-world sticker books and collectible cards. It turns a membership card into a full-fledged digital game. There are also Warp Games — massively multiplayer casual games designed to encourage participation from many members within the community — and Battle Royale — a game where players battle against each other using the features and traits of their membership cards.

Community Spaces

Community Spaces are community-specific digital environments in which users can socialize with each other. Access to these Spaces is gated, and only the community's cardholders are allowed to enter them. The Spaces are also designed to protect users' privacy. You don't need to provide your name (or username) in order to participate in a Space, as only your membership card for that particular community is required. These Spaces can feature messaging apps, video streaming, games, and other elements to foster socialization and cooperation among members.

What Is Galaxis Crypto Token (GALAXIS)?

Previously known as GLX, the GALAXIS token is Galaxis's native cryptocurrency, launched in early May 2024 via the Bybit Web 3 IDO platform. A utility token, GALAXIS enables its holders to access various features and benefits on the platform. It must be noted that GALAXIS isn't used for on-platform payments; this function is performed mostly by USDT. Nor is it a governance asset. The token's main utility is in providing access to certain on-platform features, based on the amount of GALAXIS held by the user.

GALAXIS has a total supply of 7.5 billion, with a maximum supply specified at 10 billion.

Where to Buy GALAXIS Crypto

GALAXIS crypto is available through Bybit's Spot market (GALAXIS/USDT). From May 10–22, 2024, you can also join Bybit's campaign dedicated to the token to grab a share of the 35,000 USDT prize pool. The campaign is split into two events: a Token Splash event with a 25,000 USDT prize pool and a Lucky Draw with 10,000 USDT up for grabs.

Closing Thoughts

Galaxis isn't just a plain vanilla NFT creation platform. It's a comprehensive community management environment that lets creators turn NFTs into powerful digital weapons to build their own brands and online tribes.

Whether you’re a beginning graphics designer or a well-known social media personality, Galaxis lets you devise a membership card system with features that few other providers in the web3 world— or even beyond it — can match. The high level of customizability and flexibility regarding membership card structures and NFT content is what truly sets Galaxis apart. With the wealth of features on offer, the young Galaxis platform might soon become a leading force in the SocialFi sector.
