The SPX index is down 0.22%, U.S. stock indices closed down on concerns over weak housing starts, a potential government shutdown, and other economic uncertainties. The broader cryptocurrency market is up, with Bitcoin and Ether rising 1.56% and 0.30% respectively, in the past 24 hours.
Todayโs outperformer is TRB, which surged 26.4% in the past 24 hours after announcing the next-gen oracle protocol Tellor Layer.
Tellor (TRB), launched in 2019, is an Ethereum-based oracle service that specializes in delivering trustworthy and secure external data to smart contracts, particularly those in the DeFi sector. It offers users the ability to obtain verified, real-time market data directly within smart contracts, bypassing the need for external crypto exchanges. TRB introduces Tellor Layer, a next-gen oracle protocol built on the Cosmos SDK. It aims to address key crypto challenges like decentralization and interoperability. The new version will feature modular governance, support for various types of data, and limitations on Miner Extractable Value (MEV). Upgrades and forks will be managed seamlessly through the oracle, and no significant tokenomics changes are planned. The project is still in development and open to community feedback.

Talk of the Town:
Circle has launched its USDC stablecoin on the Polkadot network, making it available for transfer to Polkadot's parachains via the XCM protocol. The launch is part of Circle's strategy to maintain its position as a major interoperable cryptocurrency and to support low-cost payments. The company warns users not to deposit XCM-transferred USDC from non-Polkadot Asset Hub parachains as it may result in a loss of funds. With this addition, USDC now supports 14 blockchain networks, surpassing its competitor, USDT, which supports 11.
