Dookey Dash will operate as both a game and a free NFT mint. Between Jan 18 and Feb 8, users can participate in the game with a special pass, known as a Sewer Pass. The basic goal of the game is to run as long as possible before you get wiped out. The longer you run, the higher the score you get. Your pass can then evolve into different rewards depending on how well you do in the game. 

So far, Yuga Labs has been very secretive about what exactly the top scorers will win. No one knows whether the prize will be a new ape or an NFT from another brand-new line of characters. The Dookey Dash game is part of the "Jimmy the Monkey" storyline that involves entering BAYC sewers to find a bathroom where players can get a key from Jimmy.

A Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT puts you at Tier 3, and a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT combined with a Bored Ape Kennel Club NFT will give you the highest bonus percentage possible at Tier 4.

One Sewer Pass gives you unlimited Dookey Dash tries, as long as you use it within the game's time window and score more than 0 points. You can also sell the free Sewer Pass on the secondary marketplace or transfer it to a friend who wants to try the game. High scores will be linked to the wallets that hold the passes, not the Sewer Passes themselves. Some people may plan on keeping their pass instead of minting another NFT with it, so they can display it as personal art.

How to Take Part in Dookey Dash

You can take part in Dookey Dash from a variety of computers, tablets and smartphones. The game is supported on Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. All you need to do to get started is go to the official Dookey Dash website. 

Obtain a Sewer Pass

The first thing you'll need to do on the Dookey Dash website is to present your Sewer Pass. From Jan 17,  a day before the game officially starts, Bored Ape or Mutant Ape NFT holders will be able to claim their very own Sewer Pass. If you aren’t a holder, fret not as you can still purchase a Sewer Pass from Sewer Pass holders who don't plan on playing.

Keep in mind that your Dookey Dash high score is tied to the unique combination of your wallet and your Sewer Pass. If you move the Sewer Pass to another wallet, this generates a new wallet and pass combination and the existing high score will be gone. You would have to then start from zero. However, if you move the Sewer Pass back to the original wallet to generate the original unique combination, you will retrieve your high score record. You can hold multiple Sewer Passes in your wallet, and each Sewer Pass will have its own individual score.

Score Points

As an endless runner game, Dookey Dash is fairly straightforward. The game's background will scroll along at an even rate as your character zooms forward. You may be able to dodge to avoid obstacles in your way. If you fail to swerve at the right time, you lose the game. The longer you dive through the sewer, the more Dookey Dash score points you rack up. 

There are many other ways to score Dookey Dash points than merely dashing through the game. Firstly, you can gain additional points by collecting specific types of fragments in the sewer. Next, destroying obstacles can help you further boost your scores. Lastly, you can also purchase power-up packs for APE tokens. Equipping the boosters can help you achieve additional points.

Rise Up in Rankings on the Leaderboard

Dookey Dash isn't just about beating your personal best record. The whole point of the game is to score more than other players. There will be a universal leaderboard that will track the scores of everyone who plays the game. Your place on this leaderboard determines your rewards later on.

However, as mentioned previously, Yuga Labs has been purposefully secretive about what these rewards for Sewer Pass holders will be. The only thing players know for sure is that the very top scorer on the Dookey Dash leaderboard will get the key featured in the Jimmy the Monkey storyline, and according to the official website, their Sewer Pass "will be eligible to transform into the ultimate…whatever they're called."

Hold Your Sewer Pass

Since this is a limited-time NFT mint, the gameplay will end on Feb 8, 2023 and all top scores will be frozen. Yuga Labs will then spend a week validating scores. On Feb 15, 2023, eligible Sewer Passes will transform into a new reward. 

Keep in mind that your Dookey Dash score is linked to the accompanying wallet, so you will need to hold your Sewer Pass in the wallet you got a good score on. Trading the pass during the validation period will cause the score to permanently reset to zero.

Wait for Your Sewer Pass to Transform

On Feb 15, "The Summoning" event will occur. During this summoning, eligible Sewer Passes will transform into something else. While Yuga Labs hasn't said what they are, it seems to be some sort of new, limited-edition NFT that may continue to evolve throughout 2023.

The criteria for a Sewer Pass to transform is quite low. You just need to have a pass that has a score of more than zero. As long as you've played the game for more than a few seconds, your Sewer Pass will most likely transform. Keep in mind that your score does affect the value and rarity of what you get, so it's worthwhile to play for a higher score even if you don't expect to make the top of the leaderboard.

Should You Play Dookey Dash?

If you're already a Bored Ape or Mutant Ape holder, there's no reason not to play Dookey Dash. You get a free Sewer Pass, and there's always a chance it will transform into something cool. Even if you do have to purchase a pass from other Sewer Pass holders, playing might still be worthwhile.
